By Our Reporters
Former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State, Dr Kingsley Okpako (also known as Kuti) recently thanked God for his life journey so far, especially making him see the new year.
Dr Kinsley who holds the said event annually at Ebenezer Baptist Church, Erho, was unable to do so the previous year as a result of some issues he was involved in.
The politician, who is also a Special Assistant to the Governor on Community Development, speaking to journalists, said that the media has not been fair to him, just as he recalled a recent publication by Sahara Reporters and other big media houses that wrongly used his face in the report of the death of a PDP chieftain in the state recently.

He also said that his ordeal with the police some time ago was also due to false news.
He however expressed gratitude to God for victory over such turbulent phase.
He said “For the past 25 years, I have held this annual thanksgiving service where I thank my Creator for keeping me from January to December.'”
According to him, “most people saw January but never saw December.”
Continuing he said “Six or seven years ago, the present governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, was there to express his connectivity of empathy to the less privileged, to widows.”
“He was my special guest; we have been friends from day one.”
Furthermore, he noted that this year’s celebration was special to him especially with the fact that he did not do it last year.
He expressed gratitude to God for keeping him and his family safe into another year especially after the false rumours of his death.
Speaking further, he advised media houses to be careful with their reports and as well ensure that they get their facts right before going on air because they could make or mar a person’s reputation.
