Abbey Wins Jos/Bassa APC Rerun Primaries

Immediate past Commissioner for Commerce in Plateau State, Hon. Joseph Abbey, has been declared the winner of the APC primaries for Jos North/Bassa rerun election.
It could be recalled that the All Progressive Congress APC had declared the bye-election primaries for Jos North/Bassa House of representatives inconclusive some days ago.
The APC however conducted the rerun in Bassa local government on Friday where Abbey Aku polled 809 votes while Suleiman Kwande polled 74 votes, while the total votes Is 887

You would recall that, INEC had fixed the 26th of this month (February) to conduct election to fill the vacant seat at the National Assembly, which became vacant because of the sudden death of its former occupant, late Hon. Haruna Maitala.
With the declaration Hon. Abbey is now the flag bearer of the APC in the coming election to be conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on the 26th of Febraury, 2022, to fill the vacant seat at the National Assembly, made vacant by the death of late Haruna Maitala.
