Tell Parents To Stop Encouraging Their Children In Exam Malpractices, Delta Monarch Urges Group

The Orodje of Okpe Kingdom, HRM. (Maj.Gen) Felix Mujakperuo Rtd, Orhue I today urged the executive members of the Delta State Forum of Kingdom, Clans/Communities President-Generals to talk to parents to stop and discourage their children from examination malpractices.

The reverred monarch spoke when the Delta State Forum of Kingdom, Clans/Communities President-Generals paid him a courtesy visit at his palace in Orerokpe Community,Okpe Local Government Area.

The Orodje who expressed concern at the level of malpractices amongst young people in the country, said
Deltans seek admissions in other state bearing different names.

He pointed out that were the most intelligent people.

The Orodje said parents now encourage their children to pay for “miracle centres”.

He said, “You’re destroying the future of those children and of the State. People don’t want to read again.”

According to the Orodje, “In our days, there was no light. We used latern to read and write exams. Now, there are light, people want free money and there’s no free money anywhere.

“It will come to a stage in this country when you look for ordinary school cert to be chairman of local government, you won’t get it because the thing now is Yahoo-Plus, free money. We need to talk to our children.”

The Orodje urged the Delta State Forum of Kingdom, Clans/Communities Preisdent-Generals to take the security of their respective communities seriously just as he urged them to create a “Sub-Committee” within the forum.

He said they need to be security conscious with a view to being their brothers keeper, stressing that, “some of us who are seeing crisis, when it comes, it’s a serious matter. We need to be security conscious to defend ourselves if the government cannot defend us.”

The Orodje stated that Fulani herdsmen have made it difficult for women and men to go their farms.

“If we cannot go to farm, you will be hungry. If you have no food, if you cannot feed yourself, you’re not a human being. You depend on somebody else for food? If the man cuts off the food supply, you become a slave to that person. Whatever he tells you, you will do. So, we must take security seriously. How can we help ourselves when there’s crisis?”

The Orodje also said the activities of some of the president generals are inimical to that of their traditional rulers in the various kingdoms.

He said some of the President generals instigate crisis and chase away their kings with their palaces burnt down. While urging the president generals to respect their traditional and royal stools, the Orodje said, “if you don’t respect your elders, your own children will not respect you.”

He also said they should not allow riffraffs to underrate their kings and dethrone him from their throne just because he has money, saying “Don’t allow it. You will destroy your people.”

The Orodje also prayed for peace to reign in the kingdoms of all traditional rulers, leaders and community president generals in the State.

The Orodje who is the Chairman of Delta State Council of Traditional Rulers said, “Their reign will bring peace to their various Kingdoms. Delta State will enjoy peace.”

According to the Orodje, “I pray for our governor to remain strong. I pray for all leaders and traditional rulers that there shall be peace in their kingdoms. I pray for the president generals that peace will reign in their kingdoms.”

He thanked the forum for congratulating him on his appointment as the Chairman of the Delta State Council of traditional rulers.

Earlier in a brief speech delivered by the Chairman, Forum of Kingdoms, Clans/Communities President-Generals, Prince Igwe Nzekwe congratulated the Orodje of Okpe Kingdom on his appointment as the Chairman of Delta State Council of Traditional Rulers.

“I congratulate You, Your Majesty on well deserved appointment as the Chairman of the Delta State Council of Traditional Rulers.

AWe felicitate with you on your appointment and we also pledge our loyalty to You Sir and to all our highly esteemed Royal Fathers of all our various Kingdoms, Clans and Communities.

“We wish you a peaceful reign that will be marked with stability in the State and development at the grassroot levels of Delta State as a whole

“We offer ourselves as willing vehicle of achieving harmony within and between Kingdoms, Clans and Communities.”

Prince Nzekwe noted that the forum is determined to pull in the same direction as the traditional rulers to the end that Delta State will continue to grow in all positive ways during and after his tenure as Chairman of Delta State Council of Traditional Rulers.
