Lack Of Strategic Thinkers In Governance, Bane Of Nigeria's Progress, Says Nesiama

The candidate contesting for Delta South Senatorial District under the platform of New Nigeria People’s Party, (NNPP), Navy Commodore Omatseye Nesiama(Rtd) said Nigeria in general and Delta South Senatorial District in particular is stagnated today due to lack of strategic thinkers in governance, saying if he is made to represent the people in this capacity, he would bring about strategic thinking which would culminate into policies and programmes for the benefits of the people.

Commodore Nesiama stated this today, Monday in a chat with news men at the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Warri Correspondents’ Chapel (Press Centre) in Warri South Local Government Area, Delta State.

He said since successive governments have failed to meet the aspirations of the people, they feel that all hope is lost, saying, he has come to restore the hope of people as he is prepared to influence and execute projects for the benefit of the people.

He said: “All hope of good governance is not lost. Successive administrations have failed us because of lack of strategic thinkers.”

Commodore Nesiama who, after his retirement from service, has been involved in a lot of mentoring and life’s coaching of young persons and adults alike and advocate of the youths to have gainful employment, said, among development plans is to ensure that the pulse of the people is felt, know exactly what their needs are and execute projects in that direction, adding that, many of the youths would be employed.

He said, already, in his little way, he has been able to train well over 245 youths and employ them in his security outfit.

He added, when the youths are gainfully employed, they would not accept to be used as political thugries in the country during elections.

Commodore Nesiama who said he already has his development plans said, he is not waiting to be elected before planning as he already has his template to work with when elected into office.

He said: “l have already had my developmental plans and as soon as l get there, l would execute them.”

He said undervelopment in Nigeria in general and Niger Delta in particular used to be blamed on the military government but the military has left power since 1999, the people have continued to be empoverished, saying, this is due to bad legislations.

He added: “We can no longer blame the military for our woes because the years Nigeria has been in democracy is enough to have tremendous growth and development”.

Commodore Nesiama said, his plan is to facilitate the building of stronger Delta South Senatorial District by enlightening the people and bring about a brighter socio-economic development.

He pledged to engage with relevant authorities towards building of more schools in strategic locations in the district and raise the quality of education at levels with greater emphasis on vocational training skills development to equip the youths with jobs in the future.

Commodore Nesiama whose movement is: “The Hope of Restoration Moment” said, all hope is not lost as his thoughts among others, are to execute viable projects and stronger economy which would give gainful employment to engage the youths, human capital development through constituency project funds to reduce unemployment, insecurity and hunger in the Delta South Senatorial District, he would ensure strict implementation of the Petroleum Industry Act to empower the host communities with wealth and job creation to reduce crime in the region, he would attract both local and international NGOs, tourism development, sports development, community development, among others.

Commodore Nesiama therefore charged the people in Delta South Senatorial District to put away the assumption that things cannot change for the better and obtain their Permanent Voters’ Card(PVC) and come out to cast their vote for him, come 2023 general elections to represent them and they would witness unprecedented growth and development in the area.
