Olomu Donates Relief Materials And Cash Gifts To Flood Victims In Sagbama Local Government Area

The Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Sagbama-Ekeremor Federal Constituency, Hon. Michael Bless Olomu, donated relief materials and cash gifts worth millions of naira to reduce the difficulty challenge faced by flood victims in various Communities in Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

Olomu while addressing some newsmen stated that he was touched by the pains and sufferings of the people caused by the devasting flood which has made so many people vulnerable and helpless, stressing that there was a great need to personally witness the ugly situation and render material and financial assistance to the people at this trying time.

Olomu as a people oriented humanitarian leader used the medium to personally visit internally displaced persons camps including people who are hospitalized in various hospitals in Sagbama, Bulou-Orua and Adagbabiri Communities in Sagbama Local Government Area, which is greatly affected by the devasting flood.

Olomu encouraged the flood victims not to be demoralized with the devasting situation, by sympathizing with them with cash gifts and donation of food items such as rice, beans, garri, noddles, bags of salt, pure water bags and mosquito nets to sick people and hospitalized persons in Sagbama, Bulou-Orua and Adagbabiri Communities.

The relief materials to the people of the respective communities which is Sagbama, Bulou-Orua and Adagbabiri communities to reduce the difficulty circumstance were received by Amananaowei, Community Development Committee Chairmen, Community Youth Presidents including members of flood management committee.

Olomu used the medium to visit traditional rulers, community leaderships, elderly men and women from compound to compound and door to door to render financial support and relief materials to reduce the devasting situation been experienced by the people in various across the local government area and beyond.

The house of representatives candidate whose birthday was on the same day stated the great need to celebrate the birthday with the flood victims in a internally displaced persons camp in sagbama community, with the primary motive of encouraging the flood victims and give them a sense of belonging as a way of not been neglected.

Olomu appealed to private individuals, state government, federal government and other government parastatals to come to the aid of the flood victims, stressing that the people are greatly in need of relief materials describing the situation as a very pathetic circumstance in various communities in the local government area and beyond.

The house of representatives candidate was accompanied by the deputy chairman of the APC in bayelsa state, Hon. Francis Kolokolo and the house of assembly candidate of the APC in sagbama constituency ||, Engr Humphrey Highlife Peremobowei, to distribute the relief materials to the various communities in the local government area.
