By Balogun Mabamije
The Vice President- General of Afiesere Community, Chief Okiemute Chikaleke, has debunked the report by an online news platform, alleging that the petroleum flow station at Afiesere had been blown off by a militant group, the Niger Delta Avenger.
Speaking to newsmen on the report, Chief Chikaleke described it as fake, a figment of the imagination of the news platform, with mischievous intent to create tension and undue sensation in the locality.
He said the report was based on mere rumour and embarrassing to the community and reasoned that the purveyors of the unfortunate report outght to have gotten clarification from leaders of the community.

“It is a mere rumour. I don’t know where they got that rumour from because, as I speak with you now, the flow station is intact and operating optimally,” he maintained.
Explaining further, however, Chief Chikaleke said that Well 9, a gass line that had not been functioning, was vandalised which, according to him, gave vent for the frivolous report of bombing the entire flow station.
He said as a community leader, he had the privilege of being a member of staff of the oil company and was on night duty, assuring that the flow station was in good condition and operating perfectly well.
Chief Chikaleke said the Social Media had its good and bad sides, just as he enjoined newsmen to always verify before coming out with reports on such sensitive issues.
He said the publication was presented in such a way to dent the image of the peace loving community and warned reporters who were always of being in a hurry to publish fake news to steer clear of Afiesere Community, saying that anyone caught wanting would be made to face the Law.
