Deltans To Celebrate State’s Creation Anniversary With Thanksgiving

As part of activities to mark 32 years of the creation of Delta State, the people of the state will attend a thanksgiving service at the Cathedral Church of St Peter’s (Anglican Communion), Asaba.
An invitation card seen by Newsden on Friday night, stated that the church service would commence at 10 am prompt on Sunday.
It was gathered that Deltans of all walks of life are expected to attend the ceremony which a source described as, “inter-denominational.”
General Ibrahim Babangida’s administration on August 27, 1991, created Delta State, putting to an end the existence of Bendel State which comprised Delta and Edo States.

Dr Kingsley Emu, Secretary to the Delta State Government signed the invitation card for the anniversary thanksgiving.
Our reliable sources stated that while invitation cards were given to some individuals, the thanksgiving service will not be restrictive but open to all Deltans and lovers of the state who wish to thank God for the thirty two years of the existence of the oil and gas rich state.
