On why the event was held, she said: “Having a Vice Chancellor who has been staff friendly and has done so much for the university, we decided to use this Registry Lecture as an avenue to honour him for his outstanding performances in the university because he has done so much for the Registry staff in terms of capacity building, furnishing of offices, that is infrastructure and so forth and so on; promotion of staff and staff welfare. Just name it. He has done so much.”
Asked what her message was for the VC who has just 100 days to exit office, she said: “If it is possible to say he should stay on, we would love him to stay on. But, as he goes, we wish him all the best and we know that he is not going to change the person he is. He is staff friendly, human friendly and everything that depicts a good leader, that is who Professor Andy Egwunyenga is.”
To DELSU staff community, she said: “Professor Egwunyenga should be emulated.”
