Popular Abraka Chief and aide to the Governor of Delta State, Ambassador (Chief) Harrison Jessa JP, has congratulated the 8th Vice Chancellor of the Delta State University, Abraka, Professor Samuel Asagba, on his emergence and successful assumption of office.
Asagba officially assumed office on Monday to the applause of many.
In a statement on Tuesday he personally signed, Chief Jessa said the community was excited with his emergence, saying he will get their support as it has been with former VCs.
He added: “I am eager to start reading and seeing his success stories because his antecedents show that he is a good man and a goal getter.”
According to the statement, the new VC has hit the ground running with his well spelt out 5-year-agenda for the institution.
“I am especially impressed with his plans for the community, thereby pushing the town and gown relationship with Abrska to the next level.
‘He has promised to upgrade the quality of graduates from DELSU, build infrastructure, increase the university’s revenue base, collaborate with other universities and focus on the welfare of staff and students and many more. These are laudable.
“His emergence marks a significant milestone in the annals of the university,” he opined.
“Our prayers are with him and we are optimistic that his tenure will bring good fortunes to DELSU and the host community, Abraka,” he concluded.
