Comrade Alhassan Yahya Abdullahi Praises Journalists, As NUJ Clocks 70

Comrade Alhassan Yahya Abdullahi,
President, Nigeria Union of Journalists has said that he is thrilled to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) with every member of the union.

He said this in a congratulatory message to NUJ members on Saturday.

He continued: “As the president of this esteemed union, I want to take this opportunity to express my deepest gratitude and admiration for all the hard work and dedication that you have put into the field of journalism.

“Over the past seven decades, the NUJ has played a crucial role in championing press freedom, defending the rights of journalists, and ensuring ethical standards in the industry. Your commitment to speaking truth to power, holding those in authority accountable, and giving voice to the voiceless is truly admirable and inspiring.”

He added: “As we mark this milestone anniversary, let us reflect on the legacy of the NUJ and renew our commitment to upholding the values of journalism. Together, we can continue to strive for a more just and democratic society, where the press remains free and independent.”

“Congratulations to all NUJ members on reaching this significant milestone. Here’s to the next 70 years of excellence in journalism!,” he concluded.

On his part, Chairman of the Delta State Council of NUJ, Comrade Churchill Oyowe, said “it is not by accident that journalists are celebrating this milestone at this time in history.”

Adding: “God Almighty has made it possible for the National President, Alhassan Yahya Abdullahi to be on the saddle on the 70th anniversary of the NUJ. It is the prayer of Delta Council that the grace to bring in more celebration will be bestowed upon our national president and bring about a union of glory to glory.”
