In a remarkable move that underscores the commitment of the Federal Polytechnic Orogun (FEPO) to academic excellence and meritocracy, the Rector, Professor Duke Okoro, on Saturday, April 26, 2025, announced the automatic employment of Miss Okwa Favour Oghenemine, the best-graduating student of Delta State University, Abraka (DELSU).

Miss Okwa, who graduated with an exceptional Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.95 in Mathematics, outshone 6,401 graduating students during DELSU’s 17th Convocation Ceremony held at the university’s main campus in Ethiope East Local Government Area.
Speaking during the event, Prof. Okoro stated that Miss Okwa’s outstanding academic performance and personal discipline align perfectly with the core values upheld by Federal Polytechnic Orogun, which include academic excellence, creativity, innovation, integrity, leadership, and a performance-based reward system.

“Today, we are witnessing not just the celebration of an outstanding graduate, but the manifestation of our belief in performance-based reward and recognition,” Prof. Okoro said. “Federal Polytechnic Orogun is committed to building an academic culture that not only rewards excellence but also inspires future generations. In recognition of her excellence and hard work, I am pleased to announce that Miss Okwa Favour Oghenemine has been offered automatic employment as a lecturer at the Federal Polytechnic Orogun,” Prof. Okoro declared to loud cheers from the audience”. “Our institution is committed to nurturing the best minds to serve as catalysts for societal development. This appointment is not just a reward for excellence; it is an investment in the future of education in Nigeria”, he added.
Prof. Okoro also lauded the Vice-Chancellor of DELSU, Prof Samuel Ogheneovo Asagba, alongside the management and staff, for their unwavering commitment to academic excellence and character formation, which he said has continued to produce globally competitive graduates like Miss Okwa.
The Rector emphasized that the employment offer reflects FEPO’s broader vision to be an institution grounded in cutting-edge digital literacy for vocational skills acquisition and character development.
