DELSU Releases Updated Timetable For 18th Convocation Ceremony

Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, has officially rescheduled activities for its 18th Convocation Ceremony for the 2024/2025 academic session.

The announcement, contained in the university’s official bulletin released on Friday, April 24, 2026, is for all graduands including Regular, Sandwich, SLT, Weekend, Part-time, and Affiliate students, as well as their parents, guardians, and the general public.

According to the revised schedule, the collection of academic gowns and scrolls will run from Monday, April 20 to Thursday, April 30, 2026, while Monday, May 4, 2026, has been fixed as the deadline for the return of gowns.

Activities for the convocation began on Friday, April 24, with Jumat prayers for Muslim members of the DELSU community.

A pre-convocation service will hold on Sunday, April 26, at St. Paul Catholic Chaplaincy, Site II, Abraka Campus by 8:30 a.m.

On Tuesday, April 28, the Vice-Chancellor’s Press Conference is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., while sports activities, including a novelty match, will take place by 4:00 p.m.

The Convocation Lecture will be held on Wednesday, April 29, by 10:00 a.m., followed by a Convocation Drama presentation at 4:00 p.m.

Thursday, April 30, has been set aside for the Founder’s Day Thanksgiving Service at All Saints’ Anglican Chapel, Site III, Abraka Campus by 9:00 a.m., alongside Alumni Day by 2:00 p.m. The day will also feature the presentation of awards and prizes to First Class graduating students, the best graduating students in each faculty, and the overall three best students of the university.

The grand finale will hold on Saturday, May 2, 2026, with the award of Diplomas, First Degrees, and Higher Degrees, as well as the investiture of Professor Emeritus, conferment of Honorary Degrees, and presentation of prizes.

The university noted that this publication supersedes the earlier bulletin released on Friday, April 17, 2026.
