Delta Police Intensify Waterways Patrol To Tackle Kidnapping, Drug Trafficking

The Delta State Police Command has intensified patrol operations along key waterways as part of renewed efforts to combat kidnapping, drug trafficking, and other criminal activities in the state.

In a coordinated security operation, police operatives from the Marine Units of Delta and Anambra State Commands, supported by personnel of the Buffalo Team and led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, conducted a patrol along critical waterways. The operation covered areas from the Second Niger Bridge axis to the Asaba Grand Hotel corridor.

The exercise, described as proactive, is aimed at addressing emerging security threats while ensuring the safety of residents and commuters in the area.
According to the Command, all officers involved were fully equipped with life jackets, reflecting adherence to safety protocols and professionalism during the operation. The patrol was completed successfully without any incident.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, reassured residents of the Command’s commitment to the protection of lives and property across Delta State. He urged members of the public to remain vigilant and support security agencies with timely and credible information.
