Nani To APC: Choose Peace Over Division In Ethiope West

A major show of reconciliation and political realignment unfolded on Sunday at Oghara Township Stadium as leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State gathered for a unity rally aimed at healing internal divisions.

The event, which drew a large turnout from Oghara, Idjerhe, and Mosogar Kingdoms, signaled a renewed commitment to cohesion within the party ahead of future political contests.

Addressing party faithful, APC chieftain, Olorogun John Nani, delivered a strong message centered on reconciliation, urging members to prioritize peace over conflict in pursuit of political success.

Nani, in an emotionally resonant remark, cautioned against the destructive consequences of internal strife, noting that while political battles may appear necessary, their outcomes are often uncertain and costly.

“Fathers bury their children in war, but in peace, children celebrate their fathers,” he said, stressing that unity offers a collective victory, unlike conflict which produces winners and losers.

He maintained that the gathering was a clear demonstration that party members were better off united, reminding them that peace does not signify weakness but a more strategic path to sustainable victory.

According to him, the reunion reflects a return to shared values and common purpose, adding that division had previously weakened the party’s strength in the area.

Nani also took a swipe at individuals he accused of fueling tensions through social media, warning against the spread of misinformation and divisive narratives.

He urged party supporters to remain loyal to their leaders and desist from actions capable of reigniting discord.

“If you are truly a follower of your leaders, follow them wholeheartedly. Do not sow seeds of division anymore,” he said.

The rally ended on a note of renewed solidarity, with stakeholders expressing optimism that the reconciliatory efforts would reposition the APC for stronger political outings in Ethiope West and beyond.
