2027: Ejele Declares Bid For Delta South Senate Seat, Vows Victory After APC Group Endorsement
Warri, Delta State— A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Michael Diden, popularly known as “Ejele,” has officially declared his intention to contest the Delta South Senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections, following a strong endorsement from a political pressure group in the state.
Endorsement by APC Crusaders and Messengers Movement
The endorsement was made by the APC Crusaders and Messengers Movement during a political rally held at Rice Farm along Esisi Road in Warri, Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State.
The group described Hon. Michael Diden as a credible and tested politician, urging him to contest the senatorial seat in 2027 to represent Delta South effectively at the National Assembly.
Following the endorsement, the group also declared support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Delta State Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, and other key political figures in the state.
Ejele Accepts Call to Contest
In his response, Hon. Michael Diden expressed appreciation to the group for their support and confidence in his leadership, stating that their appeal would not be ignored.</p>
He confirmed his readiness to contest the Delta South Senatorial seat in 2027, noting that he was encouraged by the continued loyalty of his supporters.
According to him, “There is an adage in almost all tribes that the best way to show appreciation is to say thank you. Therefore, I have no other option than to say thank you for the endorsement.”
He further recalled his previous political contest, stating that he had strong support across the senatorial district during the last election cycle.
Claims of Previous Electoral Performance</h2>
Hon. Diden stated that in the 2023 general election, he secured victory in seven out of the eight local government areas in Delta South, attributing his performance to grassroots support and the backing of loyal political groups.

He expressed confidence that with renewed support, he would achieve victory in the 2027 senatorial election.

The Director General of the APC Crusaders and Messengers Movement, Mr. Suru Diden, explained that the endorsement of Hon. Michael Diden was based on widespread demand from supporters across Delta South Senatorial District.
He noted that the group had already begun mobilising support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, and other APC candidates ahead of the 2027 elections.
He added that the movement’s goal is to ensure strong political representation for their preferred candidates at all levels.
Diden Described as Grassroots Politician
Speaking further, the Deputy Director General of the group, Engr. Ogie Samson, described Hon. Diden as a grassroots politician with strong leadership qualities and a history of public service.
He said the senatorial hopeful is widely respected for his accessibility, listening ability, and problem-solving approach to leadership.
According to him, Diden’s experience in governance and legislative matters makes him a strong candidate capable of representing Delta South effectively in the Senate.
Political Mobilisation Ahead of 2027 Elections
The group also announced that it has commenced widespread mobilisation across all local government areas in Delta South Senatorial District in preparation for the 2027 general elections.
Political observers say early endorsements such as this are expected to intensify political activities in Delta State as parties and candidates position themselves ahead of the elections.
