Ajede Presents Council Income And Expenditure Report To Ukwuani Legislative Arm

The Executive Chairman of Ukwuani Local Government Area, Hon. Barr. C.S. Possible Ajede (PhD), on Wednesday presented a detailed report of the council’s income and expenditure to the Ukwuani Legislative Arm in compliance with a court order.

Ajede, while addressing the legislators led by the Leader of the House, Rt. Hon. Kenchoni Durell Ossai, explained that the presentation became necessary following a court directive requiring the disclosure of the council’s financial records.

The council chairman stated that he had previously submitted detailed financial reports to the legislature and also organized a town hall meeting to brief Ukwuani indigenes and residents on the management of council resources and developmental projects executed by his administration.

During the session held on May 20, 2026, Ajede submitted a comprehensive document detailing the council’s income and expenditure from July 1, 2024, to date. He proceeded to read out the monthly financial inflows and expenditures covering the period since he assumed office.

Ajede maintained that his administration would remain focused on delivering developmental projects to the people of Ukwuani and would not be distracted by issues capable of slowing governance.

He further reaffirmed his commitment to transparency and accountability, noting that the release of the financial records demonstrated that his administration had nothing to conceal regarding the management of public funds.

Members of the legislative arm received the report positively and commended the chairman for what they described as his commitment to openness and due process.

In a motion moved by the Councillor representing Ward 1A, Hon. Melvin Ogbuta, the lawmakers praised Ajede for his accountability, transparency, and integrity in re-presenting the financial reports, describing the action as a proper democratic routine.

The House also passed a vote of confidence in the Executive Chairman. The motion was moved by Hon. Melvin Ogbuta and seconded by Hon. Tennyson Ekule.
