DELSU VC Appoints Prof. Vincent Efebeh As New Dean Of Student Affairs
ABRAKA, NIGERIA — The Vice Chancellor of Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, Professor Samuel Asagba, has approved the appointment of Professor Vincent Eseoghene Efebeh as the institution’s new Dean of Student Affairs.
Professor Efebeh is expected to assume office on June 16, 2026, in an acting capacity pending formal ratification and approval by the university’s Governing Council, in line with DELSU administrative procedures.
He will take over from the outgoing Dean, Professor Ignatius Nkonyeasua Njoseh, who is expected to formally hand over during a transition ceremony on the day of Efebeh’s resumption.
About The New Dean
Professor Efebeh is a respected academic in the Department of Political Science at Delta State University. Widely regarded for his contributions to political economy, international relations, and public administration, his research interests span African security, regional leadership, governance systems, and the growing impact of technology on public administration.
University stakeholders believe his appointment will strengthen student administration through a more structured, policy-oriented, and inclusive approach to student welfare and campus engagement.
Leadership Transition Amid Institutional Growth
The appointment comes at a period of sustained institutional progress under the leadership of Prof. Asagba. DELSU has continued to gain national recognition, emerging as one of Nigeria’s leading state-owned universities and maintaining strong academic visibility across the South-South and South-East regions.
Professor Efebeh assumes office at a time when the university management is implementing several student-focused initiatives aimed at improving welfare and learning conditions across the campuses.
As Dean of Student Affairs, Professor Efebeh will oversee matters relating to student welfare, accommodation administration, and student union relations, with a mandate to sustain campus harmony and strengthen the university’s student support framework.
