NAPPS Immediate Past Chairman In Delta, Ifoghere, Regains Freedom Days After Abduction

The leadership of the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS), Delta State chapter, has confirmed that its Immediate Past Chairman (IPC), Deacon Monday O. Ifoghere, has regained his freedom from kidnappers’ den.

Ifoghere was abducted on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, by unknown gunmen while traveling from his residence in Eku to Benin City.

According to an earlier report by this platform, he had left home to pursue a petition involving the NAPPS Delta State leadership.
His wife reported the incident the following day, May 7, at the Zone 5 Police Headquarters, raising concerns that he had received threats prior to his abduction.

After spending several days in captivity, Ifoghere regained his freedom on the afternoon of May 10, 2026.

In a statement issued on behalf of the State Executive Council, the Assistant State Secretary expressed gratitude to God for his release and appreciated members of NAPPS across Delta State for their prayers, support, and contributions, which it said were instrumental in securing his freedom.

The association added that further details surrounding the incident would be communicated in due course.
