Young, Others Went For Fanfare, Their Send-Off, Remain Suspended, Akpeme Reacts As NAPPS Delta Meets In Sapele

Dr. Ochuko Akpeme has insisted that he is the National Vice President (South South), National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools, saying that the Young-led executive of the association in Delta State remains suspended.

Recall that on Wednesday, members of NAPPS in the oil-rich state met in Sapele for their 37th State General Meeting.

Reacting, Akpeme in a phone conversation, said that the state executive members remain suspended and that any action or decisions taken after their sack and at the said meeting are null and void.

Adding: “What they have gone to do in Sapele is to celebrate their send-off. It is a mere fanfare because by their suspension as stated in their letter of suspension, NAPPS is a notable organisation where rules and regulations are taken seriously.”

He recalled that NAPPS national does oversight function for NAPPS in the region and the region does same for states the same way the state oversees the chapters, adding that by the powers he has, the suspension of the state exco is in tandem with NAPPS constitution.

Dr. Akpeme said the meeting was poorly attended, stating that he was not surprised.

In his words, NAPPS Delta is made up of very intelligent school owners, saying the low turnout was a silent show of disapproval of the meeting in Sapele by NAPPS members in the state.

He continued: “I have been patient but will no longer be; it’s time to exercise my powers and they will be shocked with the outcome. I am certain that I have the support of many right-thinking proprietors in the state.”

Furthermore, he urged members of the association in the state to remain calm, just as he said that further developments will be revealed in due course.

He said: “I am for the progress of NAPPS in the state. We have labored hard to bring NAPPS to this point and there is no way we will do anything to harm the vibrant body.”

“Doing things with the sacked excos is illegal and members must listen to my call and be ready to work with the interim exco,” he said.

He appreciated all members that have called to show him solidarity, stating that at the end of it all, members will smile.

“All I am doing is for the growth of NAPPS and to deliver the body from being ran by selfish and greedy people,” he concluded.
