Tinubu, APC Hail Oyebanji’s Historic Re-election Victory In Ekiti
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) have congratulated Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, on his resounding victory in Saturday’s governorship election, describing the outcome as a strong endorsement of his leadership and development agenda.
In a statement issued on Sunday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu commended the people of Ekiti State for conducting themselves peacefully and for renewing their confidence in Governor Oyebanji through the ballot.
The President also praised law enforcement agencies for maintaining peace and order during the election and urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to sustain its commitment to conducting peaceful, free, fair and credible elections ahead of the Osun governorship poll in August and the 2027 general elections.
Tinubu noted that with the victory, Oyebanji has become the first governor in Ekiti State’s history to secure back-to-back re-election, attributing the feat to the administration’s achievements in infrastructure, agriculture, youth employment, education, healthcare and rural development under the BAO agenda.
According to the President, the renewed mandate represents a clear vote of confidence in continuity, stability and people-centred governance. He urged the governor to remain magnanimous in victory by carrying all Ekiti people along while consolidating on the gains of his first term.
Tinubu also commended other contestants for participating in the democratic process and called on them to support the governor in advancing the state’s development. He reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to working with the Ekiti State Government to deliver more dividends of democracy and deepen the Renewed Hope Agenda.
