Delta Central: Olorogun Onome Dema Dumps NDC For Labour Party

Olorogun Mrs. Onome Benice Dema has announced her resignation from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and her defection to the Labour Party.

Dema had contested for the Delta Central Senatorial ticket of the NDC but was unsuccessful after the party settled for former Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, as its candidate.

In a statement addressed to her supporters, the Delta Central senatorial hopeful expressed profound appreciation for their unwavering support, encouragement, loyalty, and confidence throughout her political journey.

She said her decision to leave the NDC followed careful thought and wide consultations, explaining that joining the Labour Party would provide her with a better platform to pursue her political ambition and continue serving the people with greater dedication, purpose, and commitment.

According to her, the move does not represent a departure from the values, hopes, and aspirations she has shared with her supporters over the years.

Rather, she said the new political platform offers a greater opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the development of Delta Central and advance the collective cause they all believe in.

Olorogun Dema appealed to her loyal supporters to remain steadfast and continue standing with her as she embarks on what she described as a new chapter in her political career.

Expressing optimism about the future, Dema said she believes that with unity, determination, and hard work, they can build a better future for the people of Delta Central.

She concluded by thanking her supporters once again for standing by her throughout her political journey and prayed for God’s blessings upon them as they begin a new chapter under the Labour Party.
