The Chairman of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly Committee on Information and Member representing Sagbama Constituency III, Hon. Mrs. Ebizi Ndiomu-Brown, has led members of the committee on an oversight tour of key state-owned media establishments as part of efforts to evaluate their operations and strengthen information management across the state.

The oversight visit took the lawmakers to the Bayelsa State Ministry of Information, Glory FM 97.1, Niger Delta Television (NDTV), New Waves Newspaper, and the State Printing Press, where they assessed facilities, interacted with management and staff, and reviewed the performance of the various agencies.

Speaking during the exercise, Hon. Ndiomu-Brown commended the Bayelsa State Prosperity Government for its commitment to effective information dissemination and public communication. She also praised the Commissioner for Information, Mrs. Ebiuwou Koku-Obiyai, and the ministry’s management team for their efforts in projecting the policies, programmes, and developmental achievements of the state government.

The committee reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the growth of the state’s media sector through legislative action. Members pledged to advocate for the inclusion of modern digital broadcasting equipment in future state budgets to improve operational efficiency and service delivery across the media organisations.
