The Chairman, Konum Farms, Amai, Delta Sate, Dr. Dele Omenogor, has urged the newly elected and sworn-in local government area Chairmen across Delta State to serve, and not lead.
Speaking to pressmen recently in Obiaruku, Omenogor opined that political office holders ought to assume the role of servants, while those that voted them in lead.
“Unfortunately, most politicians today when they get into office, forget that elders, men and women queued under the sun to vote them in,” he added.
Dr. Omenogor, who was on ground to vote in Amai in the just concluded council polls that held across the state, said the election in Ukwuani Local Government Area was peaceful and orderly, adding that he observed that the people of Ukwuani have decided to be in the mainstream of Delta politics by voting PDP and not playing opposition politics.
He continued: “I went round the 16 voting units in Amai, and from their conversation I discovered that the voters voted PDP.
“Opposition can rear its head; while minority would have their say, the majority would have their way.”
According to him, the way the council polls went in the area is a pointer to what would occur during the governorship election, come 2019.
