Chief Nnamdi Uwalaka Bags Peace Award

The immediate past Chairman, Imo-Abia/Ebonyi Union, Abraka and its environs, Chief Nnamdi Uwalaka, has been honoured with a ‘Peace Award’, presented to him by Nigerians Voice for Good Governance (NVGG).
The event which held today at Royal Amanda Hotel, Abraka, had in attendance some leaders of Igbo community in the area.

Speaking during the presentation, the President of NVGG, Bishop (Dr.) Isaiah Overare, opined that NVGG is out to promote democracy and effective leadership.
According to him, they have been monitoring the activities of Chief Uwalaka for a long time, saying that his input to crime fighting in the area and his disposition to peace earned him the award.
“This presentation today, is to encourage him to do more,” he added.
Responding, Ogechi Maduwuba, The Ogrishi Ndi-Igbo, commended the organisation for deeming it fit to honour one of their own, saying that this was another confirmation of the recipient’s inspiring achievements and noble contributions in the areas of peace and security in and beyond the state.
Chief Uwalaka is the President Ohanaeze Ndi lgbo, Abraka Community, Public Relations Officer, Police Community Relations Committee, PCRC, Abraka Division and was recently appointed as the PRO, PCRC Sapele Area Command.
He is also the Coordinator, Non-Indigenes Delta Central.
