Police Gun Down Suspected Armed Robbers, Recover Arms In Delta

Men of the Nigeria Police Force”A” Division in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State, at about 06030hrs yesterday gunned down two suspected armed robbers at Odien Street in Essi Layout, DAILY POST can report.
The Police also recovered a locally made AK47 rifle and a magazine fixed to the gun with several stolen mobile phones.
It was learnt that the suspects had successfully robbed and dispossessed some girls of their mobile phones and other valuables in the area before the police on routine patrol stormed the area following a distress call.
Oasis Magazine gathered that the deceased suspects quickly engaged the police in a serious exchange of gun fire.
In the process, two of the suspects sustained serious gun shot wounds while others escaped from the scene.
The suspects later gave up the ghost on their way to the hospital in Warri.
The Divisional Police Officer, “A” Division in Warri, CSP Kelvin Zuokumor referred our Warri, Delta State correspondent to contact the Delta State Acting Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Andrew Aniamaka.
Contacted, the Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Muhammad Mustafa confirmed the report saying, “Yes I know. It is confirmed. They called since morning.”
This is coming after the Delta State Acting Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Andrew Aniamaka wasted several minutes to confirm the said report.
He however, later sent a text which read thus: “Sorry, I have a meeting now.”
