Trailer Conductor Slumps, Dies After Fight With Govt. Official In Delta

The death of the conductor of a Mack trailer has been reported.
Oasis Magazine (OM) learnt that men suspected to be from the Department of Produce, Ministry of Agriculture Delta State, while on inspection duty along the Asaba/Benin express road stopped the said trailer with Registration Number T0093YB and blue in colour.
According to reports, during an altercation, one of the inspectors hit the conductor of the trailer on the head, who subsequently slumped.
He was immediately rushed to Onicha-Olona General Hospital where he was confirmed dead by the Medical Doctor.
Confirming the report, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Delta Police Command, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, said that efforts were being made to arrest the fleeing suspect.
The Inspector General of Police ban on illegal road blocks on the Highways for the collection of levies is still in force.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Adeyinka Adeleke, has warned Deltans to always conduct their affairs with civility at all times, as he commiserated with the family of the deceased.
