Nigeria’s Mikel Obi To Join Stoke City On One-Year Deal

John Mikel Obi will join Sky Bet Championship club Stoke City on Monday.
The former Chelsea midfielder will have his medical at the start of the week and will sign a one-year-deal with the Potters.
Mikel is a free agent after leaving Turkish Super Lig outfit Trabzonspor in March, amid concerns over the coronavirus pandemic.

The 33-year-old has had detailed talks with manager, Michael O’Neil and is prepared to help the club push for promotion to the Premier League next season.
Mikel won two Premier League titles, three FA Cups, the Champions League and Europa League during his 11-year stay at Chelsea.
He had a brief stint with another Championship club Middlebrought last year.
