Israel Adesanya Targets Third 2020 Fight After Costa Victory

Nigerian-New Zealander UFC star, Israel Adesanya has set sights on having another fight this year, following his triumph over Paulo Costa at the weekend.
The 31-year-old proved his critics wrong with a decisive win over the Brazilian Jiujitsu fighter, who a blistering record of 13 wins and no losses before the bout.
With Izzy still undefeated, the win moves his pro UFC record to 20-0.
Following his dominant second-round win coming by way of a Technical knockout (TKO), Adesanya says he is still fresh, full of energy and ready for another fight. However, he admits his foot still hurts.

“I don’t know, I’ve got to talk to the big dog,” Adesanya revealed on Ariel Helwasni MMA Show on Wednesday.
“This year, I want to fight this year. We talked a little a bit last night and I can’t say much more but we’ve got some plans, I want to fight this year. I’m fresh. My foot only hurts from kicking.”
In a year marred by cancelled events due to the coronavirus pandemic, Adesanya has fought twice, the first being the win over Yoel Romero at UFC 248.
