Isoko South Constituency 1 Bye Election: Delta CP Orders Massive Deployment Of Policemen, Warns Mischief Makers

In order to have a hitch-free Isoko South Constituency 1 bye election on Saturday, 11th September, 2021, the Commissioner of Police, Delta State, CP Ari Muhammed Ali, FCIA, PSC+, has ordered massive deployment of personnel to provide security during the election which will be held in Isoko South Local Government Council Area in the state.

This was disclosed in a statement by the Acting Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Delta State, DSP Edafe Bright on Thursday.

According to the statement, the CP assured all residents that the Delta State Police Command is committed to ensuring the security of everyone in the local government by the deployment of its officers to all the polling units and also some speculated hot spots in the area in order to maintain peace and calm all through the electioneering process.

The police chief also appealed to front runners in the said election to caution their supporters and foot soldiers to restrain themselves from causing chaos, saying that such acts will not be tolerated.

Muhammed also said that no police aide or security agent will be allowed to escort their principal or any important personality (VIPs) to polling units or other movements while the bye election is going on.

Furthermore, he warned that any security personnel that violates this directive will be arrested and made to face the full wrath of the law.

Meanwhile, the police has said that there will be restriction of movement around Isoko south local government area from 0000 hours Friday, 10th September, 2021 to 1600 hours on Saturday, 11th September, 2021.

Also, the CP reiterated that police personnel deployed for the elections will be professional in carrying out their designated duties as assigned.
