50 New Medics Take Oath At DELSU

The 13th set of 50 qualified medical doctors took Medical oath yesterday (6/1/22) in a colorful ceremony at the Delta State University, Abraka.
Speaking at the occasion, the Vice-chancellor of the University, Prof. Andy Ogochukwu Egwunyenga described the ceremony as very significant in the annals of the University, especially with the high quality of doctors, just as he showered encomiums on the management of Health Sciences for their effort in producing the young doctors.
He, however, advised the new doctors, whom he described as ‘heroes and heroines’ to be good ambassadors of the University by practicing the concepts and theories they have learnt, bearing in mind the tenets of the noble profession they have chosen.

On his part the Provost, College of Health Services, Professor L. O. Omo-Aghoja charged the doctors to resist the temptation of sharp practices in their career.
Highpoint of the ceremony was the administration of the oath by the registrar, Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria, Dr. T. A. B. Sanusi
The best graduating doctor, Dr. O. E. Ubogun was the cynosure of all eyes and he was showered with numerous cash gifts in addition to an automatic employment and TETFUND sponsorship to any part of the world for postgraduate Studies.
The runner-up, Dr. G. E. Ajenaghrure also got automatic employment and cash gifts.
In a related development the member representing Ethiope Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Hon. Ben Igbakpa promised to build and donate a befitting structure to the Delta State University College of Health Sciences as part of his constituency projects.
