Cultism: Warri South Council Vows To Flush Out Miscreants
Assures Motor Spare Parts Dealers, Others Of Adequate Security
Chairman of Warri South Council Area, Dr Michael Tidi, on Thursday, vowed to flush out miscreants under the guise of cultism who terrorize residents in the area.
Tidi, while responding to an online report alleging that cultists have taken over some areas in the council, assured residents, especially motor spare parts dealers in Lower Erejuwa, of adequate security.
He however said that the report came to him as a shock because throughout the festive period there was no security breach in the council area.
He said the council is ready to assist enforcers in ridding the area of these miscreants.
The chairman also used the opportunity to call on parents in the council to warn their children to desist from joining cult activities for their own sake.
He said anyone caught involving in any form of cult activities in the council will be made to face the full weight of the law.
Meanwhile, investigation revealed that the 2021 Yuletide festival was the most peaceful in the council.
A security officer who spoke to our correspondent under strict anonymity said “the council had never had it this good in terms of security in the past ten years.”
