Rights Activist Calls On Nigerians To Keep Filming The Police After Arrest Of Officer Assaulting Lady In Viral Video

A rights activist based in Delta State, Comrade Harrison Gwamnishu, has called on Nigerians to continue to film the police, adding that “any officer scared of camera is not qualified to be in service.”

This call follows the arrest of SGT Jude Ogudu with Force Number F/NO. 504953
and four others spotted in the viral video assaulting a lady along Benin/Lagos Expressway.

Gwamnishu in a statememt disclosed that the said police officers have been arrested by the Edo State Police Command, saying that “the case is being handled by the command X-squad.”

He said the incident happened between 13th & 15th December, 2021 and was shared on social media.

According to his statement: “Yesterday, I was tagged and I reposted it on all social media platforms tagging the IGP office and today the officers are in detention.”

He continued: “Also, I demanded the officer is paraded, and the Police listened to me. Thank you IGP.

“Without the video, these officers would have denied assaulting the victim.”
