2023 Bayelsa Gubernatorial Race: Dickson’s Stern Warning To Diri…Change Your Ways Now, Retrace Your Steps, Make Amends
The Former Governor and Senator representing Bayelsa West Senatorial District, Henry Seriake Dickson has given a sound warning to his successor, Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State to change his ways and style of leadership, and retrace his steps to avoid been choked in the forthcoming gubernatorial election.
The Ofurumapepe gave the warning to his successor, Governor Douye Diri during his courtesy visit to the hometown of the governor, Sampou Community, where he spoke in riddles to convey his new year message to the people of the community and Bayelsans at large.
“Someone with a deep understanding of the Ofurumapepe’s message will understand that he was clearly stating the danger that will befall the governor, if he refuses to change his ways, retrace his steps and make amends with his predecessor.
“For a proper understanding of the message behind the publication; let’s take a flashback to the remarkable efforts of the Ofurumapepe, and few circumstances that led to the emergence of Douye Diri as PDP governorship candidate in 2019, and subsequently as Governor of Bayelsa State.

“Dickson made everything constitutionally possible engaging and harmonizing traditional rulers, elder statesmen, leaders and stakeholders of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to support and ensure that Governor Douye Diri emerge as the party governorship candidate, and subsequent victory in the gubernatorial election.
Dickson as a political gladiator and dogged fighter with focus and determination to give the people of Kolokuma-Opokuma Local Government Area a sense of belonging in occupying the office of the Governor first in the history of the state, fought tirelessly to ensure Diri’s victory in the gubernatorial election, but unfortunately lost to the APC.
Dickson with resilience and doggedness as a legal practitioner proceeded to the court following the laws and constitution of the country to get the needed victory, challenged the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate and his running mate in the court of their legality to contest the gubernatorial election.
With the tremendous efforts of the Ofurumapepe, Douye Diri and his running mate, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo was given victory in supreme court in less than 24 hours to the swearing-in of the winner of the gubernatorial election, the APC governorship candidate, David Lyon and his running mate, Degi Eremienyo.
Investigations indicate that Gov. Diri has rather been busy cooking up propagandas to fight against his predecessor, Senator Dickson, instead of showing profound gratitude to the former governor for his relentless efforts and contributions to ensure his emergence as Governor of Bayelsa State.
Gov. Diri’s profound gratitude to his predecessor, Senator Dickson has been politics of pettiness and propaganda to fight against his political interest, and key critical stakeholders of the PDP who stood gallantly with the former governor to ensure his emergence as the Governor of Bayelsa State.
It is an unarguable fact that some critical leaders and stakeholders of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state has resigned their membership with the party, and subsequently defected to other political parties to further their political ambitions, as a result of the poor leadership style of Gov. Diri in managing the affairs of the party in the state.
Hot news gathered that the former governor and senator representing Bayelsa west senatorial district is bitterly angry with the governor, as a result of his policies of governance and style of leadership in managing the affairs of the PDP, stressing that Dickson will not support Diri’s reelection in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the state.
With proper assessment and deep understanding of the new year message delivered by Senator Dickson using parables during his courtesy visit to Sampou Community, clearly indicate that the Ofurumapepe will not support Diri’s reelection, if Diri does not retrace his steps and make amends with his predecessor before the gubernatorial election.
Hot news further gathered that Governor Douye Diri and his team of blackmailers and propagandists with the fear of the unknown pretentiously paid a courtesy visit to his predecessor, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson in his country home, Toru-Orua Community to lobby for his full support in the forthcoming general election and the gubernatorial election.
A reliable source revealed that Senator Dickson as a smart and intelligent politician was never impressed with the pretentious visit, stressing that Dickson is fully aware of the hidden intentions and plans of Diri to continue to blackmail and fight against the interest of his predecessor in the forthcoming general election, and subsequently the gubernatorial election.
The source added that the Ofurumapepe will not support Diri’s second term bid, if Diri refuse to change his ways and style of leadership, and perceive the great need to retrace his steps and make amends with his predecessor and subordinates who worked tirelessly for the current administration.
