Pipeline Surveillance: Women Group Dismisses Allegations Against NNPCL’s Eyesan

A group under the aegis of Niger Delta Women for Change (NDWC), have dismissed allegations of oil pipelines surveillance contracts racketeering by the Executive Vice President (Upstream) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited, Mrs. Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan.

Describing the accusations as “baseless,” NDWC’s president, Esiri Ikomoni, who spoke at a press conference in Warri, Delta state, rejected calls for her removal over the development.

Flanked by Oritsemisan Juliet and Sophia Tamaralayefa, the group’s Secretary and Public Relations Officer respectively, she said the allegations against Mrs. Eyesan does not align with her track record of professionalism and ethical conduct, stressing that the “NNPCL remains committed to fostering an environment of transparency and accountability.

“The NNPCL adheres to a strict and transparent procurement process, ensuring that contracts are awarded based on merit, competitiveness, and compliance with all relevant regulations.

“Mrs. Eyesan has consistently demonstrated her commitment to ethical practices, promoting a level playing field for all stakeholders involved in the procurement process.”

Urging the general public and the media to exercise caution in spreading unverified information and to await the outcome of any official investigations into these allegations, she expressed confidence that the truth will prevail.

“In the face of baseless and malicious attacks, Mrs. Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan, the esteemed Executive Vice President of Nigerian Petroleum Company Ltd (NNPCL), stands resilient, determined to reframe the narrative surrounding her dedicated service and outstanding achievements.

“As a key strategist of one of Africa’s biggest companies, she led teams that developed corporate strategy, influenced government policies, regulations, laws, while orchestrating commercial agreements (including infrastructure development for local and multinational projects),” Ikomoni asserted.

She said the recent attempts to undermine EVP’s contributions have been identified as not only malicious, but also fueled by tribalistic blackmail.

“In response to these attacks, the EVP remains steadfast in her dedication to the principles of professionalism and inclusivity. Her commitment to advancing the energy industry, irrespective of tribal affiliations, stands as a testament to her vision for a unified and prosperous Nigeria,” the president of the group added.
