By Daniel Dafe
Executive members of the Postgraduate Students Association of Nigeria, PGSAN, Delta State University, Abraka, have congratulated the Vice Chancellor, Professor Andy Egwunyenga, on the successful 16th convocation ceremony of the institution.
PGSAN in a statement on Monday, signed by the President, Ohwovoriole Oviebemre and Secretary,
Umeh Chinonye, said the event was a huge success, adding that every activity added to the tempo of the one-week event that climaxed on Saturday.
According to the statement, this being the 3rd and last under the Egwunyenga administration was indeed a very exciting gathering for all that attended.
The statement added: “From the pre-convocation Thanksgiving to the Press Conference to the convocation lecture and presentations by the Theatre Arts and Fine Arts departments all had class. Even the Alumni day and then the d-day when projects were commissioned by the Visitor and Governor of the state, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and as well prizes given to the graduands, was all grand.
“The VC has brought class to convocation ceremonies in the history of the university and we believe this is a legacy that he is leaving behind. We hope the next VC continues from where he stopped in this regard because convocation events have become one of the avenues to showcase the greatness of DELSU to the world.”

Continuing, PGSAN wished the graduands a successful after-school life, just as the association prayed that the remaining months of the VC’s tenure would be a time to cross all his ‘T’s and dot all his ‘I’s,” just as they prayed that he finishes his tenure very strong.
Furthermore, PGSAN thanked the Visitor for giving automatic employment to the best graduating student and prizes to the 1st and 2nd runner up, saying these are great ways of supporting and raising the standard of education in the state.
