The leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ethiope East Local Government Area has officially endorsed Hon Chief Augustine Ogedegbe JP, as the consensus chairmanship candidate for the upcoming 2024 local government council elections.
This decision was reached after a series of consultative meetings and deliberations aimed at presenting a unified front in the forthcoming elections.
In a unanimous decision by the Ethiope East PDP leadership, the party expressed its confidence in Hon. Ogedegbe’s capabilities, citing his extensive experience in public service and his unwavering dedication to the development of the local government.
PDP sources said the endorsement underscores the party’s commitment to fostering unity and ensuring the selection of a candidate who embodies the values and vision of the PDP.
The endorsement ceremony that held at Chief Bernard Edewor’s residence in Eku town, Ethiope East Local Government Area, was attended by key party stakeholders, party elders and grassroots supporters.
During the event, speakers highlighted Hon Ogedegbe’s achievements and his plans for Ethiope East which include comprehensive development programs, improved infrastructure, and enhanced social services.

In his acceptance speech, Hon Ogedegbe expressed his gratitude to the party leadership and members for their trust and support.
He pledged to work tirelessly to justify their confidence and to deliver on the promises of development and good governance.
“I am deeply honored by this endorsement and I assure you all that I will not take this responsibility lightly,” Ogedegbe stated.
“Together, we will build a stronger, more prosperous Ethiope East for all.”
Meanwhile, a supporter of the immediate past Chairman of the local government area, Victor Ofobrukueta who was in the race for a second term, while reacting to the development, said: “It is well.”
The supporter who spoke under conditions of anonymity, added: “That is what the governor wants.”
