Delta Police Arrest 24-Year-Old Who Threw Her One-Year-Old Baby Into Well

The Delta State Police Command has arrested a lady resident in Isoko South Local Government Area who threw her one-year-old baby into a wel.
Police Spokesman in the state, SP Bright Edafe, who disclosed this on Friday via a post on X, said “the suspect is a 24-year-old lady who lives in Araya community in Isoko South.”
According to the post, “she threw her one year and four months baby inside a well on 24th April 2024.”

Continuing, he said: “Children who went to play around the well after three days found the baby floating after drowning.”
Adding: “According to her, she committed the dastardly act because she could no longer take care of the baby.”
Stating that the offence is infanticide,
Edafe said “the suspect is in custody and investigation is ongoing.”
