..As Erhimedafe, Edewor Receives Decampees, Assures Them Of Dividends Of Democracy

Chairmanship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ethiope East Local Government Area, Chief Augustine Ogedegbe, has again assured the people that his administration shall prioritize youths and women empowerment, enhance peace and security, ensure equal opportunity for all, create wealth and jobs as encapsulated in the MORE Agenda of the state governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori.

Ogedegbe gave the assurance on Monday June 17, during his electioneering campaigns visits to wards in Eku, Okpara Waterside, Okorogba, Igun, and Okurekpo communities, saying that the era of autocratic leadership style, deliberate disrespect for party elders, leaders and stakeholders are over for good.

He said Ethiope East is now fully on course in the political scheme of things in the state as a result of the huge support from the state party leader and governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, describing him as a pragmatic and visionary leader who has achieved so much within one year in office, especially for engaging construction giant, Julius Berger Nigeria Plc to open a new high profile page in mega infrastructure development across the three senatorial districts like never before.

Ogedegbe further assured that governor Oborevwori will set a new standard, and highly intimidating records in good governance, as can be seen from the star projects so far commissioned across the state to mark his one year anniversary and counting, adding that the MORE Agenda is working wonders, which is why he had to adopt it so as to effectively tap from the governor’s uncommon grace for the development of Ethiope East.

He appealed to all Councillorship candidates never to exhibit any trait of arrogance, self centeredness and disrespect for constituted authorities either at the state or local levels, while promising to always monitor the activities of all elected councillors to ensure compliance to the new order of quality representation garnished with humility, high sense of humour and dedication to duty.

“I don’t have my own agenda for Ethiope East. Everything I need to do to advance Ethiope East is already in the MORE Agenda of our indefatigable governor and state leader of our great party, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, JP.

“Deltans are happy with the governor because of the ongoing huge infrastructure development of the state. For the first time since the creation of Delta State, construction giant, Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, has been engaged by governor Oborevwori.

“As I speak to you here today, flyovers and pedestrian bridges are being constructed at DSC Roundabout, PTI junction, Effurun Roundabout and Enerhen junction up to Marine Gate. It has never happened before. The governor deserve our collective prayers and support to enable him do more.

“I will doggedly, proactively and decisively deal with the vexed issue of insecurity, and our people shall be free to make meaningful progress in their farming businesses, and to go about their socioeconomic activities without fear being killed, raped or molested by some criminal elements.

“My tenure will bring about prosperity for the good people of Ethiope East. Vote for PDP, vote for Chief Augustine Ogedegbe. I will be a servant leader, not autocratic leader. I will consult widely before taking any major decision.

“Governor Oborevwori is a governor for all Deltans, and I will be Chairman of Council for all the good people of Ethiope East, irrespective of political affiliation.

“How can a well dressed perfect gentleman go about with a broom in his hand? It’s not dignifying at all, which is why the broom party is spreading hunger, joblessness, high inflation and acute poverty across Nigeria.

“Life is hard and rough today because of the negative effects of the cursed broom of the broom party.

” Vote for PDP, Vote for Chief Augustine Ogedegbe,” he emphasized.

No fewer than one thousand former members of opposition political parties across various wards in Ethiope East Local Government Area willingly and deliberately defected to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and subsequently adopted Chief Augustine Ogedegbe as their sole candidate for the council chairmanship election scheduled to hold on July 13, this year.

Welcoming the lastest batch of decampees to PDP on Monday June 17, the Ethiope East LGA Chairmen of PDP, Hon Felix Erhimedafe, said PDP is one big, strong, powerful and caring family, and assured them of fair treatment and and unrestricted access to dividends of democracy.

He said the state party leader and governor of Delta State, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori is a detribalised leader, while urging them to individually take a step further to bring their friends and political associates who are still roaming about aimlessly with the cursed broom of the broom party, to come under the protective embrace of the big, strong and dependable umbrella, the PDP.

In the same vein, PDP leader in Ethiope East, Chief Bernard Edewor, urged the decampees to go all out and win more people to the party, mobilize heavily for the forthcoming council election, because they stand to benefit instantly from the good governance strides of the governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, as well as from the administration of the incoming Council Chairmen, Chief Augustine Ogedegbe.

Several party elders, leaders, stakeholders and political appointees of Ethiope East extraction attended the campaign rallies on Monday, including; Hon Felix Erhimedafe, Chief Bernard Edewor, Rt Hon Sunny Emeyese, Dr Sam Efetobor, Chief (Mrs) Beauty Anidi, Chief Adun, Dr (Barr) Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, Hon Sylva, Okakuro Collins Eboh, Engr Noni, Engr James Akpoisheri, Hon Joshua Atigogo, and others too numerous to mention.
