DELSU Students Receive Diffre-Odiete’s Research Grant
Two final year students of the Department of Languages and Linguistics, Delta State University, Abraka, Akpomedaye Emily and Akpaka Harriet have received N40,000 as assistance for their projects.
The grant was presented by an ex-student of the BA Linguistics/Urhobo programme in the Department of Languages and Linguistics, DELSU, Abraka, Pst Akpobome Diffre-Odiete, today, Friday, 12th July, 2024.

The sum according to Diffre-Odiete should be used by the students for the typing of the projects and other secretariat expenses. The sponsor, Diffre-Odiete has also promised to provide additional support to the beneficiaries in the form of travel costs and renting of recording equipment for their fieldwork.
Recall, that the first edition of the Diffre-Odiete’s research grant was awarded to three female students of BA Linguistics/Urhobo in September 2023 based on the recipients’ approved fieldwork project topics.
