Kidnappers Reportedly Abduct Three In Abraka,, As Police Sources Debunk Report

By Enamuotor Joy
Tensions are running high in the Lucas Extension area of Abraka, Ethiope East Local Government Area, Delta State, after three boys were reportedly kidnapped in broad daylight on Wednesday, April 23, 2025.
The incident has sparked widespread outrage and reignited concerns over escalating insecurity in the area.
As of the time of this report, the identities of the kidnapped victims have not been officially confirmed.
Hon. Enamuotor John, Special Assistant to the Delta State Government, again voiced his frustration, alleging that the DPO frequently ventures into nearby bush areas under the pretense of pursuing criminals but has delivered no tangible results.

“CSP Ayameh has served in this community for five years with no notable improvement in security,” Enamuotor said.
“He should be removed immediately. The lives of our children and residents are in danger. We also demand a full investigation into any local collaborators.”
A resident, who spoke on condition of anonymity, described the rate of kidnappings in Abraka as “alarming” and urged the Delta State Police Command to act swiftly to rescue the victims and restore public trust.
Efforts to reach the State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Edafe Bright, for comment were unsuccessful as calls went unanswered.
Meanwhile, police sources in the university debunked the report.
One under the conditions of anonymity, said: “This case doesn’t look like a kidnap case. When we learnt of the incident, men were sent there to hinder any escape, but we found nothing. We were even told that they came back for the car but the police had towed it to the station.
“It looks like a yahoo yahoo case because the car the three boys drove in before their whereabouts became unknown is still in the police station and no one has come to report the incident or lay claim to the car.”
