APC Unveils Detailed Screening Schedule For National Assembly, Governorship Aspirants

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has expanded its ongoing screening exercise for aspirants ahead of the 2027 general elections, releasing a comprehensive timetable covering National Assembly and governorship hopefuls.

The party had earlier announced the commencement of screening for aspirants seeking tickets into the National Assembly, with Senate aspirants billed to appear at the Abuja Continental Hotel, while House of Representatives hopefuls are to be screened at Treasures Suites & Conferences, Abuja.

Further details now reveal that the screening process also includes governorship aspirants and other key categories within the party.

Screening for incumbent governors seeking Senate tickets, alongside governorship aspirants, held on Friday, May 8, 2026, at the Plateau State Governor’s Lodge, Abuja, beginning at 4:00 p.m. Other governorship aspirants are scheduled for screening between Saturday, May 9, and Sunday, May 10, 2026, at the NWC Hall of the APC National Secretariat in Abuja, with proceedings set to commence at 10:00 a.m. on both days.

For National Assembly aspirants, Senate screenings will take place from Saturday, May 9, to Sunday, May 10, 2026, at the Abuja Continental Hotel (formerly Sheraton), starting at 10:00 a.m. daily. The exercise will be conducted in panels, with different states assigned to specific days across Panel A and Panel B to ensure a smooth and orderly process.

Similarly, House of Representatives aspirants will undergo screening within the same dates—May 9 to May 10, 2026—at Treasures Suites & Conferences, Abuja. The exercise will also begin at 10:00 a.m. each day and will be organised into multiple panels (A, B, C, and D), with aspirants from various states scheduled accordingly.

The APC noted that the structured screening arrangement is designed to efficiently assess aspirants’ qualifications, credentials, and readiness ahead of the party’s primary elections. The exercise is a crucial step in determining candidates who will fly the party’s flag in the forthcoming 2027 general elections.
