Delta Police Issue Essential Safety Guidelines, Release Emergency Contact Numbers
ASABA— The Delta State Police Command has issued a crucial security advisory to residents on how to effectively seek help during midnight emergencies, urging the public to utilize official channels rather than personal contacts.
In a statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Edafe Bright, the Command highlighted a common pitfall where citizens in distress attempt to call individual officers they know personally.
> “When you are in distress, possibly at midnight, and you call a policeman you know, who probably may not be on duty and could be sleeping by that time, you will say ‘I called the police and got no response,’” SP Edafe explained.
To bridge this communication gap and ensure a rapid response, the Command advised residents across the country to always have two critical sets of numbers saved: the state’s Police Command Control Room emergency number and the phone number of their local Divisional Police Officer (DPO).

The PPRO emphasized, however, that the control room remains the most reliable lifeline during a crisis.
“The best line to call in case of an emergency is the control room phone number,” he stated.
To ensure immediate access to assistance, the Delta State Police Command also released the following 24/7 emergency control room numbers to the public:
-08036684974
-08114895600
-08025666914
Residents are securely advised to memorize or save these numbers on their mobile devices to ensure swift intervention during security emergencies, the police concluded.
