Warri Delineation Crisis: Akpos Commends Tinubu, Oborevwori For Quick Intervention

..Says Move Saved Nigeria From GDP reduction

WARRI – A chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in Delta State and an Executive Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Oil and Gas, Chief Edafevwotu Akpos, has commended the quick intervention of the duo of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori in resolving the contentious ward delineation issues in Warri Federal Constituency.

The Governor’s EA on Oil and Gas Matters, while addressing journalists in Ughelli, the administrative headquarters of Ughelli North local government area, on Friday, expressed gratitude to President Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for what he termed as “wuick intervention”.

According to him, the President’s dialogue meeting with the three major ethnic nationalities in the area in contention, the Ijaw, Urhobo and Itsekiri, has brought about peace among the three ethnic nationalities in line with the Supreme Court judgment and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) delineation exercise.

While commending Governor Oborevwori for convening peace meetings aimed at fostering unity and understanding among the ethnic groups in Warri, Chief Akpos described Governor Oborevwori as a grassroots leader who appreciates the importance of peaceful coexistence among ethnic groups for meaningful development and tranquillity.

Speaking further, he said, the quick intervention of President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori has not only saved the state from another full-blown ethics crisis, but it has also saved the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

“For the quick intervention of the duo of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, the Oil companies in the impacted areas get back to work to save the country from losses from oil production, which is the mainstream of the country’s economy.”

He called on traditional rulers across the region to continue working together and guiding their subjects towards peaceful coexistence, stressing that no community benefits from violence and conflict.

“The traditional rulers must continue to preach peace and unity. We all have a responsibility to ensure that Warri remains peaceful and that development thrives in our communities,” he said.
