Gov. Oborevwori Seeks Apostolic Reload For Moral, National Renewal

The Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Orohwedor Oborevwori has called for an apostolic reload to reawaken hope, restore values and rebuild the moral foundation for development in Delta State and Nigeria.

Governor Oborevwori made the call on Thursday, 23rd July, 2026 at the Delta State Summit of the International Network of Apostolic Ministry, INTERACT, one of the biggest gatherings of Pastors in Delta State, with the theme, “Apostolic Reload,” held at the Royal Generation Mission, Km. 1 Ubogo Road, Ubogo Town, Udu LGA.

The Governor who was ably represented by the Executive Director of Projects, DESOPADEC, Olorogun Ebenezer Okorodudu JP, Ph.D. while addressing the congregation, said Delta State remains fertile ground for the Gospel and the administration counts it a privilege to partner with the faith community in nation-building.

Speaking on the theme, he said to reload is to restore what has been depleted, to recharge what has grown weary and to reposition for a fresh and more effective discharge of duty, stressing that the nation and the State stand at a season that calls for such reloading, not only in the spiritual realm but in the moral and civic life of the people.

“Just as the apostles of old were commissioned afresh at critical turning points, so too must ministers of today rise to reawaken hope, restore values, and rebuild the moral architecture upon which lasting development is built,” he stated.

On governance, Okorodudu said the Oborevwori administration, anchored on the M.O.R.E. Agenda — Meaningful Development, Opportunities for All, Realistic Reforms, and Enhanced Peace and Security — recognises the indispensable role of the faith community as a partner in governance.

He said while government provides policy, infrastructure and institutions, it is the Church that shapes conscience, character and the moral compass of citizens, and remains a vital ally in promoting peace, security and inclusive development across the three senatorial districts.

Charging Ministers to let the summit be more than an assembly of sermons, he said it should be a genuine reloading of purpose that produces Ministers who preach righteousness and practise integrity, and a Church that intercedes for Delta State and Nigeria while labouring for the upliftment of the poor and the strengthening of family values.

Earlier, the Delta State General Overseer of INTERACT, Bishop Monday Okotie had said INTERACT has over time, recorded transformation through verifiable testimonies, expressing hope that the summit would serve as an opportunity for Ministers of God to refill their tanks for the journey in 2026.

“I want you to see this summit as an opportunity to refill your tank for the journey in 2026. The fuel is in abundance and the fuel attendant, that is the Trinity, has positioned himself at the pump stand,” he said.

In his sermon, the INTERACT International President, Apostle Dr. Zilly Aggrey prayed for a reload in the lives of participants, contrasting the quality of life Nigerians enjoyed in the past with present realities, noting that many values have depreciated.

Lamenting that people now go around to verify miracles before believing, Apostle Aggrey urged young people to seek the glory of God, advising everyone to pray for genuine relationships, and charging the congregation not to forget their humble beginnings and admonished Ministers to reload in worship, culture, work and evangelism. He then ended with prayers, referencing Genesis 4:1.

The ceremony featured prayers for the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Orohwedor Oborevwori, music ministration, testimonies and cultural dance display.

Among the dignitaries present were Bishop Dr. Abos Willie, INTERACT Deputy International President and President of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN; Bishop Josephine Edeme, Deputy State General Overseer; Bishop Dr. San Oyede; Apostle Prof. Goodwill D.K Ebizugbe; Rev. Dr. Gabriel Umueme; Bishop Dr. Simeon Okah; Eminence Archbishop Eric Emiaso; Governor of Bayelsa State, His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri, who was represented by the Bayelsa Government House Chaplain, Rev. David Yala; Okobaro of Ughievwen Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Dr. Matthew Ediri Egbi, JP, who was represented by Queen Felicia Egbi and Queen Joyce Egbi and Mrs. Hilary Ibuje.
