Institute Of Education: DELSU Announces 2026/2027 Admission Into Diploma Programmes
Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, has announced the commencement of admission into its regular Diploma Programmes under the Institute of Education for the 2026/2027 academic session.
The announcement was contained in the university’s Official Bulletin, S.E. Vol. XXXV No. 73B, dated Tuesday, August 4, 2026.
According to the bulletin, the admission exercise covers Diploma programmes across seven departments of the Institute of Education.
The Department of Business and Entrepreneurship Education offers Business Education and Entrepreneurship Studies, while the Department of Educational Management and Foundations offers Early Childhood Education, Economics Education, English Education, French Education, History and International Studies Education, Political Science Education, and Religious Studies Education.

The Department of Guidance and Counselling offers Guidance and Counselling Education, while the Department of Health and Safety Education offers Health, Safety and Environmental Education.
Other programmes include Human Kinetics, Recreation and Sports Science Education and Music Education under the Department of Human Kinetics, Recreation and Sports Science Education; Industrial Technology Education under the Department of Industrial Technology Education; and Biology Education and Chemistry Education under the Department of Science Education.
Admission Requirements
The university stated that entry requirements vary according to the programme of study.
Generally, applicants are required to possess relevant O’Level credit passes in GCE O/L, NECO, SSCE, WASC or NABTEB examinations, with results obtained in not more than two sittings.
Candidates are also required to meet the specific subject requirements prescribed for their chosen programmes.
Under the specified requirements, applicants for Economics Education must have credits in English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any two other Social Science or Arts subjects.
Those seeking admission into Political Science Education are required to possess credits in English Language, Mathematics, Government and two other Arts or Social Science subjects.
For Biology Education, candidates must have credits in Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and one other subject, while applicants for Chemistry Education are required to have credits in Mathematics, Chemistry and any two other subjects.
The bulletin also specifies relevant subject combinations for the other Diploma programmes, including English Education, French Education, History and International Studies Education, Religious Studies Education, Guidance and Counselling Education, Health, Safety and Environmental Education, Human Kinetics, Recreation and Sports Science Education, Music Education and Industrial Technology Education.
