Two Vigilante Members Killed In Warri By Bandits
Unknown gunmen Tuesday night shot dead the Delta State Provost of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria, identified as Folorunsho, near Odibo Estate in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.
The deceased who doubles as the Public Relations Officer of the Vigilante in “A” Division Warri Area, was unarmed and alone at the time when the unknown gunmen suddenly opened fire on him.
The matter we gathered was quickly reported at the Enerhen Police Station before the remains of the deceased was deposited in the mortuary same night.
The incidence has caused panic to other vigilante members who are currently mourning their colleague.
The Enerhen Divisional Police Officer, CSP Emmanuel Yakubu declined comments on the matter, but a police source who craved anonymity confirmed the report.
The source described the incident as “unfortunate,” noting like that they (Police) have spread their drag net in search of the killers of the Vigilante members.
The Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Zanna Mohammed Ibrahim said, he was not aware of the incident.
In a similar vein, another vigilante member simply identified as Moses was also shot dead at Merogun Community Junction in Warri same day while the family members of the Merogun engaged themselves in a fierce gun battle over a disputed land.
