Oil Magnate, Matthew Ideh, Bags ‘Award of Excellence’
The Chief Executive Oficer, CEO, Matho and Akpoefe Services Limited, Engnr. Matthew Ideh, has been honoured by Urhuoka Development Association, UDA.
Engnr. Ideh who was presented an ‘Award of Excellence’ during the 2017 edition of ‘Urhuoka Day’ celebration by the Ovie of Oruarivie Abraka Kingdom, HRM Akpomeyoma Majoroh, Ojeta II, on behalf of the UDA executive recently in Abraka, bagged the award in recognition of his input towards the development of Urhuoka Community over the years, till date.
Hon. Abel Oghenekparede, President General, UDA during his welcome address said that, “Matthew Ideh has offered moral and financial support to UDA and given employment opportunities to indigenes of the community.”
The plaque read: “This award is in recognition and appreciation of your contribution towards moral, physical, financial and human capital development in our community.”
Mathew Ideh, an indigene of Urhuoka Community, was born and raised in Urhuoka. After his primary and secondary education, he moved to Sapele Local Government Area where he had his technical education in Electrical Engineering in the then Ethiope Technical College, Sapele.
In 1975, he joined Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited, SPDC, as a Trainee Worker Operator. After a rigorous 18-months training, where he performed excellently well, he was given full employment as an Assistant Workover Driller in 1976. He worked in all areas of Well Engineering Business in several capacities and is regarded as a veteran of Drilling and Well Engineering Business with over 40-yearsexperience in the industry.
In the Oil and Gas Industry, he is a highly sought after consultant. On retirement, he started Matho and Akpoefe Services Ltd., an engineering and consultancy company that provides services, training and manpower to the Oil and Gas Industry (Upstream and Downstream).
Ideh is well known in his community as a simple, but hardworking person, a philanthropist and well loved by all. He is a founding member of UDA, the body ladened with the responsibility of putting a governing structure in place in the community to ensure sustainable development.
