Why I Opted For the Delta State House Of Assembly Race— Chief Eguriase Sule
The Founder of Bermys Foundation and a Diaspora Ambassador, Chief Olorogun Re’Ode (Mrs) M. Eguriase Sule, has opted to vie for the Delta State House of Assembly to represent the good people of Ethiope East constituency, in the legislative chambers, come 2019.
In an interview with news men at Asaba, Delta State, Nigeria, recently, she said: “After due consultation with my people, I was advised to settle for the House of Assembly to tackle the impending challenge facing the local government.”
She further stressed that she had no intention to run for any elective position in the state, but because of the uprising challenge of misrepresentation at the House of Assembly she has decided to run.
Her words: “I will run an all-inclusive representation when elected as a House member. The time for segregated representation is gone and that is why I am going to the basis. I promise to change the narratives of the constituency when elected, come 2019.”
“I have been in the diaspora for years now, and I know what quality representation is all about. You cannot be in the river and soap is entering your eyes. We cannot have all what it takes to give the people a better life and pocket it, allowing them to wallow in abject penury,” she averred.
She further analyzed the politics in the diaspora, adding that no person uses an elective office for sentimental reasons.
“I can understand that one can be recalled to represent his people if he is all embracing. Yes, when you perform very well, your people may want you to represent again.”
She added: “Moreover, the inability of Nigeria as a nation to translate her aspirations into reality in consonance with the geniuses has been the major problems with our youths. I will not only represent well, but will provide a lasting solution to several problems in the area.”
