An Ogbe-Udu born Udu activist, Comrade Okpako Onoriobe, has called for the dualization of Orhuwhorun Road by Ovwian/Uwashe/Ekete Water Side area of Udu Local Government Area in Delta State.

Onoriobe who is also the Chairman, Board of Trustees, Mile 11 Security Organization, Igbudu Market, Warri, made the call in an interaction with our correspondent in Warri on Wednesday, August 12, 2020

While stressing the importance of the road, he said that its dualization was the desire of Udu people, being one of the major roads in Udu urban.

Onoriobe who also called for the rehabilitation of the highly deplorable road, reasoned that its dualization would not attract payment compensation to property owners on the road as he noted that there was more than enough space on both sides of the road for the project.

He further appealed that the axial Boro Road should be rehabilitated as a solution to the problem of constant hold up in Udu Road caused by the location of the ever busy Jigbale Market, Ovwian.

He also spoke on the Ogodogun Road rehabilitation project which he alleged was abandoned by the contractor handling it, saying, “As I speak with you now, the surface of that road has been watched away by rain.”

Onoriobe who is a chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) then called on the Commissioner for Special Duties, Government House, Dr Henry Sakpra, the member representing Udu Constituency at Delta State House of Assembly, Chief Peter Uviejitobor, the Chairman of Udu Local Government Council, Chief Jite Brown, former Chairman of Udu Local Government Council Chief Eddy Onosorhue and other Udu sons and daughters in the corridor of power to ensure that the said road project and other ongoing government projects in the local government were executed to standard.
