Omo-Agege Eulogises Ogiame Ikenwoli, Commends Itsekiri Nation Over Choice Of Prince Emiko As Olu-Designate

Deputy President of the Senate, Ovie Omo-Agege, has eulogised His Royal Majesty, Ogiame Ikenwoli Godfrey Emiko, Olu of Warri, who is reported to have died in 2020, saying
“as a first-class custodian of culture and pristine traditional values, Ogiame Ikenwoli distinguished himself as a worthy Monarch of the Itsekiri Nation.”
In a letter dated April 27, 2021, Agege, who bade the monarch farewell, added that Ikenwoli “stood out and tall in Nigeria as a reference point for majesty, dignity and peaceful co-existence.”
He continued: “Ogiame Ikenwoli was undoubtedly a great king. He distinguished himself by his acts of excellent friendship across boundaries. He led with a unique understanding of the value of positive human relationships.”
“His Majesty embraced me as a dear brother, friend and son, and I am eternally grateful to him for the privilege. His passage to the great beyond is a personal loss to me. I can only pray the good Lord to grant his beautiful soul peaceful eternal rest,” the lawmaker said.
Continuing, he thanked the Palace and the Itsekiri Nation on the presentation of Prince Utieyinoritsetsola Emiko to ascend the royal throne, adding that it is his prayer that “his enthronement ushers in more of God’s blessing of peace, oneness, and prosperity for all.”

“As one people under God Almighty, be assured of our love, prayers, and support,” the letter added.
He prayed for “divine guidance upon Prince Emiko, as he ascends, in good health and heavenly wisdom, the noble ancestral throne of The Olu of Warri to the glory of God Almighty.”
